Brian leads the firm's efforts in new business development. Prior to founding Algentis, Brian focused on high tech and biotech sales at ProService, an HR services firm. Previously, he worked in business development and sales at Xoom, an online money transfer startup in San Francisco. Brian also spent time as a private equity investor with Goldman Sachs Capital Partners and General Atlantic. At General Atlantic, he focused on IT services businesses and had oversight responsibility for the investment in ProPay, an HR services firm. Brian began his career as an investment banker with Salomon Smith Barney. He is a certified PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and a former CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
Brian was born in Bogota, Colombia and grew up throughout Asia, Latin America and the U.S., yet he considers the Bay Area home. Brian is active with St. Agnes Catholic Church and the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, both in San Francisco. He received his MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and his B.S. and M.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida.
Mike Sousa - Founder
Mike has responsibility for the firm's internal operations. Prior to founding Algentis, Mike worked at Nike where he focused on improving the operations of Nike's stand-alone brands including Converse and Hurley. He spearheaded strategic and operational initiatives from margin enhancement to new market entry. He also worked at OpenTable, the leading online restaurant reservation company, where he worked on projects across the various functions of the organization including operations, marketing and finance. Prior to this, he was a private equity investor with AEA Investors and a strategy consultant with Bain and Company.
Mike and his wife Jenny both grew up in Missoula, Montana and currently live in the East Bay. He received his MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and his B.S. in Finance and International Business from Georgetown University.
Michael Keck - Managing Director Michael leads the Algentis sales team and has over 12 years of experience creating, marketing, and selling high value technology and services products. This experience was developed at a variety of firms including Netflix, IBM, Endeca, Bang Networks, and ALK Technologies. Michael was an Account Executive and a top sales performer at Endeca, a leading provider of search application software. He sold Infrastructure Solutions for IBM Global Services, growing revenue in his territory over 300% in less than 2 years. Michael also led sales engineering for Bang Networks in New York, covering the top 25 banks on Wall Street.
Michael was born in Saudi Arabia and grew up in New Orleans. He played baseball for Princeton University while earning his B.S.E. in Civil Engineering and Operations Research. He received his MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and now lives in the South Bay with his wife, Kimberly, and their two children.
